At 10:00 p.m. at the MIDAC will be the opening of “Um lugar para ser dEUs” solo exhibition of Jorge Valente, Portugal.

The MIDAC (Dynamic International Museum of Contemporary Art) is pleased to promote at the gallery of Palazzo Bonfranceschi, in Belforte del Chienti, the next stage of Viajante. It’s a traveling group exhibition held in Portugal, now present in Italy, that then will touch other countries of the world, each time enriching itself with the works of artists of the host country.

The project is an idea of Jose Vieira and it developed around the concept of travel in which “more than physical movement is, in this case, pilgrimage. It is a door to a better understanding of the world, for the acceptance of others and the notion of global responsibility for our small daily actions“. The works shown, originally differed in their technique, have been homogenized through digital printing on canvas, emphasizing the aspect of conceptual continuity rather than the formal.

The event is produced by Terra dell’Arte in collaboration with the Cooperativa Teatro dos Castelos (Portugal) and under the patronage of the City of Belforte del Chienti.

Continues the Artistic season of MIDAC (Dynamic International Museum of Contemporary Art) in Belforte del Chienti.

The next appointment is with Jorge Valente (Portugal) and his solo exhibition “Um lugar para ser dEUs”. An art installation that shows, through photographs, the ancient art of facing the bull with bare hands practiced by the Forcados, a typical and humble character of Portuguese bullfighting. The event is produced by Terra dell’Arte under the patronage of the City of Belforte del Chienti.

Jorge Valente (1966) is poet and photographer. He has exhibited in Portugal, Italy, Spain and Mexico among others. He won the Second Prize at Ventipertrenta, the International Festival of Digital Art edited by Terra dell’Arte, in 2009. His artwork is part of the permanent collection of MIDAC. He is currently the President of the Cooperativa Teatro dos Castelos, organizer, producer and promoter of arts and cultural events in Portugal.

The artist declares his skepticism with a series of paintings that speak of division, of separation, of incompatibility. Of parallelism: parallel lines never intersecting. Yet the disappointment and bitterness born precisely, albeit negatively, by the awareness and the centrality of that Love, as a part integral and meaningful of the human existence.

Paola’s paintings draw lifeblood from this tragic sense of Love. Its extremely sensitive and delicate soul emerges unequivocally from his works: the subjects are aggressive, the colors are strong, the representation is essential, but we seem to hear the screams and the dizziness of his inner torment. We can recognize it, sometimes whispered, sometimes shouted, anywhere.

Paola is present, physically and spiritually, in a more or less evident way in all his works. Despite the appearances can conjure up a vision pop, ironic and comic of the world, a closer look lets certainly emerge other aspects. First of all the suffering of creation: every time she fights in a new and unnerving confrontation with his own ghosts, at the same time she liberates herself because the fight always ends with the catharsis and rebirth of self. This process is the purest form of making art. It is clear that to be an artist is a visceral need of which Paola can’t do without. And not just a pastime or exercise in style.

His works are the battleground of his freedom, a dimension where there are no more fears, prejudices, inhibitions, insecurities, frailties of his being in relation to the world. Here the manner of its expression is mature and aware. Here Paola can assert itself with strength and pride, shouting it to the world.
